HINDRANCES

The short film explores the five hindrances of Buddhist teachings.
Each hindrance is visually represented as it’s own world that acts as a dramatic
chapter in our heroes journey of self-understanding.
1) Kamacchanda - Sensory Desire.
The particular type of wanting that seeks for happiness through the fives senses of sight, sound, smell, tase and physical feeling.
2) Byapada - Ill Will, Aversion
Thoughts that provoke hostility, resentment and bitterness.
3) Vicikiccha - Skeptical Doubt
Doubting one’s actions and choices, indecision. Inability to make choices based on trust.
4) Thinamiddha - Sloth & Torpor
A heaviness of body and dullness of mind which drag on down into disabling inertia. A loss of motivation & energy.
5) Uddhacca - Restlessness & Worry
The inability to calm the mind. Getting lost in thoughts that focus on the future and the past.
